The 27 year old Englishman, who has spent most of his career in both the youth ranks and as a professional with Kawasaki, clinched no less than four world medals on the 250cc bikes and proved his ability on the KX450F during both his inaugural MX1 GP campaign and stunning guest appearances at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, the annual high-profile international contest for national teams. A brilliant stylist whose smooth controlled riding is ideally suited to the 450cc machine, Tommy is one of the most determined and popular riders on the GP circuit but has suffered devastatingly bad luck with injury and misfortune in recent world campaigns.

After a successful youth career on Kawasaki Tommy made his GP wild card debut in 2005 at the tender age of 15 with a stunning performance as he twice got back up off the ground to score world championship points in the British round of the series, and he already secured consecutive world silver medals in 2007/2008 before setting off on an eventful career in the USA. Returning to the world stage in 2011 Tommy enjoyed two tremendously successful seasons with Team CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy in the MX2 world series as they raced to consecutive world championship medals, eight GP victories and 24 podium appearances, and the partnership achieved the Rookie of the Year title during their debut season in MXGP. Injuries have been a setback to his world ranking since then, but he proved admirably last summer that he still has the taste for the victor's champagne as he raced defiantly to the first national title of his adult career in the fiercely-contested British championship. A knee injury which required minor surgery following a crash during his winter preparation in Southern California interrupted his winter preparation, but Tommy should be ready for action when the GP season kicks off and he is expected to challenge for podiums this summer with the support of DRT, Kawasaki and Monster Energy.
